Today a classic recipe and, according to author “Dugger” of GroupRecipes.com, the “ultimate primer for wilted lettuce as it was meant to be.” Is it really the “ultimate primer”? That’s hard to say, but following the instructions for this recipe should give you some top notch wilted lettuce, with plenty of bacon bits and egg slices to go with it. The recipe tastes great, so even if you already know all there is to know about wilting lettuce, it’s still worth cooking up a batch of this stuff (which serves 4).
Here’s what you’ll need for the job:
- 4 heads of Living Butter Lettuce
- 6 pieces of bacon (We hear good things about Applegate Farms brand)
- 5 tablespoons of cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 2 normal sized eggs
- 5 scallions (green onions)
